We headed up to the JH entrance with some unusual additional caving gear with us, most of which didn’t survive beyond the entrance pitch!

The trip took the usual route down to the Speedwell streamway, where we found a section that is usually too deep to touch the bottom, but has silted up so much that it is now ankle depth.

We made a detour into Pit Props passage because none of us had been there before, which was a nice if excessively muddy little side trip! We then headed out via Colostomy, which is just as bad, if not worse, than I remember it being!

A double exchange trip! We had 4 groups - a group to rig and derig each of the caves.

We didn’t get underground until late because we managed to faff for an incredible amount of time.

We got out pretty late (we derigged Titan) and sat in Dave’s freezing cold Land Rover - it was really really quite cold. The JH derigging party didn’t come out until after us, getting back to the hut at 4am!
